Brutus participating in Flake & Flames
It is with great joy we can reveal that the Scandinavian rock band Brutus will be adding to the sound of Flake & Flames.
In 2008 after countless evenings and nights in front of, and around, their local bar. After heaps of loud discussions and intense arguments on how everything just sounded so much better before – these guys felt the time was right to take matters into their own hands.
These Scandinavians – part Swede, part Norwegian – subscribe to the Witchcraft school of throwback hard rock. Inspiration is drawn from amongst others: Blue Cheer, Sabbath, Pentagram and Grand Funk Railroad. In other words: butterfingered, groovy and psychedelic hard rock!
Jesper saw the band live at the Jokers show in 2011, and have since been known to claim they are the best since Sabbath. Brutus got a new album coming out in 2013. In the meen time check them out here:

Superfly Organ Band in Flake & Flames
We are happy to announce that Superfly Organ Band will participate with their music on the score of Flake & Flames.
Superfly Organ Band is an Finnish rock band noted for its musical improvisation, extended jams, exploration of music across genres.
Formed at the Kokemaki, West-Finland in 2009, consisting of Kari Ylinen – drums and vocals, Risto Vilen – bass, Arto Ala-Jokimaki – keyboards and Jussi Makipere – guitar and vocals.
Superfly Organ Band’s music blends elements of a wide variety of genres, including rock, blues, jazz, soul, reggae and progressive rock.
In 2011 the group made and published an EP (Superfly Organ band Vol.2)

Vince Ray and The Boneshakers in Flake & Flames
Ever wondered what Vince Ray’s artwork sounds like? He’s been playing rock and roll music longer than he’s been creating artwork, stompin’ out voodoo rhythms since he was a greasey teenage punk back in the 1970′s. The themes of his artwork get taken on an aural trip with the Boneshakers where you’ll find foxey femme fatales rubbing shoulders with hot rodding greaseballs. The band is influenced by ANYTHING rock and roll from the last fifty years, there’s no limit to any scene or style restrictions here

Final Funding Campaign Kick Off
Flake & Flames have come a long way since we started the documentary film project back in november 2010. It started as a small side project, we did just because we could. Now it has grown in to a full fledged feature length documentary, with top professional people on the payroll. The film almost grew on it’s own. It is like the story was meant to be told at this point in history. It demanded to be taken seriously. The Flake & Flames monster was not satisfied with being a side project.
Making a film on this level have been a great challenge. We have learned a lot of hard lessons on the way. The amount of stuff you have to deal with when making an actual real deal documentary, to be published around the world, is mind blowing. When enough people are involved. A seemingly insignificant thing like getting answers to emails can grow in to an extremely time consuming and tedious task. Not something we figured would seriously affect our schedule when we started out. But we are fighters, and have great family and friends to support us. Not to mention all the fantastic support we get from all of you who are looking forward to see Flake & Flames very soon.
We are almost there. Flake & Flames has become the film we always wanted, but never dared imagine. Teaming up with top professionals for post production has taken the film to a totally new level. First time we saw some rough cuts, we both got all misty eyed. Flake & Flames have become more than we dared hope for. We can not wait to show it to you.
But first we need your help. Making film on this scale cost money, a lot of money. The crowdfunding campaign we did last year, covered the cost of filming in Europe. The filming we did in United States we covered with our own savings. Thanks to our agreements with Hell Yeah Beer, and KG Film we have covered most post production and editing costs.
Now, we are almost done. Release is only a few months away. Just a couple more things that has to be finished before we can publish the film. For that we need your help, and we are proud to be able to give you some seriously bad ass stuff in return.
The creature is coming to life
Signs of life are starting to come out of the editing room. It’s wild to see something that has been trapped in your mind for over a year finally take shape and twist it self out in to the light. Our superhero editor, who now refuse to respond to any other name than Von Alban, of KG Film is doing a killer job splicing parts together for the freaky monster that shall be known as Flake & Flames.
We still have a long way to go and lots of things to take care of before we have a finished film. But seing what has come to life so far have once again confirmed to us that taking on this mad project was the only right thing to do. We are so much looking forward to sharing with everybody, what we more than ever believe is a view in to Kustom Kulture no one have ever seen.
Meanwhile, while we are hiding in the editing room, the monster has gotten momentum. We frequently receive inquiries about featuring the film from all over. Many exiting things are in the making that will be revealed as things come together. Recently we where featured on IndieGoGo as a funding success story. Lots of people have posted photos of the Official Flake & Flames Poster on their walls. We are super stoked that you all share our passion for this film, and can’t wait to announce an official release date. Hope you will stick with us just a little while longer. We are getting there. The monster has a heart beat, now we just need to give it a last jolt to pop its eyes open and loose it on the world.

Nefarious from UK joins the adventure
One of the best pinstripers in United Kingdom has signed on to the Flake & Flames Kustom Kulture Adventure. We are happy to welcome Simon “Nefarious” Pollock on the cast, and are looking very much forward to filming him and others in UK.
That concludes the official gang of pinstripers we have selected to film in Europe for now. We believe these guys to be the cream of the crop today. But who knows what we will run in to on our adventure. We got plenty more fantastic people we are going to visit. Like tattoo artists, car builders, pinup models and more. Will you just use the rest of the money for beer?
We are certainly having a beer tonight celebrating that we reached our goal, that’s for sure. But no, we will not just spend the rest of the funds we raise above the goal for beers. If there’s one thing we have learned from this project is that you can always use more funds when making movies. What we raise above the target will enable us to rent better equipment to do more spectacular images. Just sound gear alone costs a fortune. Right now we only have one microphone. With more funds we can rent another microphone, and film two people talking at the same time. Not to mention camera mounts for cars and motorcycles. Hell if we had the money we would do helicopter shots. Our goal was always the bare minimum it takes to create the quality we want. There’s always room for improvement.

Empire32 to be featured in Flake & Flames
Another great artist joins the cast. The french pinstriper Etienne “Empire 32″ Butterlin will be featured in Flake & Flames. Etienne is one of the top pistripers in Europe, and also editor of PowerGlide Magazine, and a killer illustrator. We admire his work very much, and look forward to film him and his work in France.

Italian Pinstriping Legend Featured in Flake & Flames
It’s a thrill to announce another great European pinstriper and artist that will be featured in Flake & Flames. We just got confirmation back from the famous Italian pinstriper Blaster. Blaster has traveled thousands of kilometers around the world doing pinstriping, and he was fortunate to learn from Kustom Kulture icon Ed “Big Daddy” Roth while he lived.
We can’t express enough how grateful we are that our supporters have enabled us to seek out such awesome artists and film them for the movie. You guys really rule.
